The Reds cantered to a 14:0 victory in their friendly game against FC Grone, with the strikers particularly in the mood for goals. Of the 14 goals, Jan Schlaudraff scored five, Mike Hanke four and Mikael Forssell grabbed a hat trick. New signings Lars Stindl and Moritz Stoppelkamp also got their names on the score sheet.

In intense summer heat of over 30 degrees, the Reds delighted the many fans that turned up with an entertaining performance that included an abundance of goals. Aside from the strikers it was the two new signings Lars Stindl and Moritz Stoppelkamp that also hit the goal-scoring trail – with the former, ex-Karlsruhe player Stindl, scoring on his debut for the 96’s.
