Altin Lala has earned the affectionate nicknames “Mr 100%” or the “little warrior” from his fans. The little Albanian, who is vice-captain of the team, takes care of the dirty work in the midfield for the “Reds”. Lala attends to this not always appreciated job with such commitment and finesse that it’s an absolute joy to watch him at work.

When possible the ‘Cleaner’ also takes part in the Reds’ build up play and poses a threat to the opponent’s goal. In the 5-0 victory against Hertha at the start of the second half of the 2006/7 season he finally scored his long sought after first Bundesliga goal. By the end of his first Bundesliga season in 1999 he had become something of a cult figure amongst the Hannover 96 fans. His closeness to the fans, combined with a willingness to throw himself into challenges, a sky-high work rate and impressive consistency has increased his value to the club. Altin Lala is without a doubt one of the most respected and most loved players at 96.

The Albanian’s adrenaline levels reach the maximum limits possible in the game, but in his private life the Red’s midfield anchorman is a loving and caring person. He is involved in helping the less well-off and raises money for good causes. Altin Lala never boasts about his humanitarian work. He is a role model to all young people and demonstrates how every professional footballer should be.
